NKY Regional History Weekend
The weekend of May 16-18 will showcase several regional history events and programming and hosted in different communities! Non-Profit organizations in Covington, Ludlow, Fort Thomas, and Erlanger will be hosting opportunities to learn more about local history and explore the region. Saturday, May 17:
Behringer-Crawford Museum - "Driftwood" The Life of Harlan Hubbard, 10:30am-Noon
Join BCM Curator of Collections Jason French for a special guided tour. Harlan Hubbard, a Kentucky artist, writer, and sustainability pioneer, embraced a life of simplicity and creativity. This compelling exhibit, created in collaboration with Jessica K. Whitehead, curator at the Kentucky Derby Museum and author of "Driftwood," brings Hubbard’s story to life through paintings, photographs, journals, and handcrafted artifacts—many displayed for the first time. Join French as he offers a deeper insight into the exhibit, sharing fascinating stories and answering questions about Hubbard's life and lasting impact.

The BCM is located at 1600 Montague Rd, Covington, KY 41011. Parking is free and available in lots outside of the building.

Ludlow Historic Society - Lagoon Legacy Festival - 10am-5pm
The Ludlow Lagoon operated in Ludlow between 1895-1918 and at peak times saw over 30,000 guests in a single day, riding from Cincinnati and Fountain Square in streetcars. Join us in Ludlow to learn more about the history and wonder of the Lagoon, through guided walking tours, lectures, and exhibits, plus enjoy live music, circus performances, games for the kids, and food trucks! The festival is free to attend, but the walking tours and lectures require the purchase of tickets. More information and tickets can be found here: Ludlow Lagoon Legacy Festival.

The Festival will take place in the area around the Ludlow Community Center, located at 808 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016. Parking will be free and available in several lots within close walking distance to the festival. Signage will be present.

Erlanger and Elsmere Historical Society - Open House at the Erlanger Historical Train Depot Museum - 5-7pm
The Train Depot Museum will be open late hours Saturday evening from 5-7pm for a special open house featuring a number of exhibits including local history during World War II, military uniforms, the Erlanger's Woman's Club, a showcase of Erlanger's elected officials, and community interviews. Refreshments will be provided.

The Train Depot Museum is located at 3319 Crescent Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018. Parking is free and available in the lot in front of the Museum.

Fort Thomas Military and Community Museum - Walking Tour of the Fort and Midway - 10:30am-Noon
The Museum will host a free walking tour of the Fort and the Midway. Guests will learn about the history of the buildings remaining in the fort itself, which were built between 1888 and 1910, as well as an overview of the business district known as the Midway and its development alongside the fort during the early years.
The walk will begin at the Mess Hall in Tower Park and will end at the Museum in Tower Park. The address is 801 Cochran Avenue, Fort Thomas, KY 41075 and plenty of free parking is available in the lots surrounding the building.

Kenton County Historical Society - A Presentation on the Covington Waterfront Murals - TBD
